Operational responsibility for Laboratory Information Systems which includes daily computer program file maintenance, operational problems, and implementation of necessary changes. Monitors computer malfunctions, reconciles and corrects errors entered into the system. Ensures compatibility of component sub-systems and files. Monitors and coordinates system operations to ensure efficiency. Reviews a variety of reports to ensure that all systems are operating efficiently.

BS Degree in Medical Technology and ASCP Registration or a 2-year degree in Medical Technology with HEW Registration

Two (2) years of experience as a staff Medical Technologist is required.  Continuing education in computer/data functions is preferred.  Keen insights and thinking ability to make program modifications and software manipulation.  Communication ability to instruct Laboratory personnel to operate the system.  Mechanical ability to troubleshoot and make minor repairs to and perform routine maintenance on hardware.
