Summary:

The Corporate Radiology Service Line Senior Director is responsible for the overall success of the organization's radiology service line. This includes developing and implementing strategic plans, overseeing financial performance, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. The Senior Director will also work closely with other service line leaders to develop and implement integrated care models.
This position will report to the SVP of Clinical Operations in Clinical Services.

In conjunction/consultation with corporate and hospital based executives and clinicians, this role will provide support to all CHS imaging locations. The Sr. Director will have access to resources to leverage within Process Improvement, Quality, Regulatory, Nursing Services, Data Science, CV Svc Line and other operational areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic and operational plans for the radiology service line
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care by developing and implementing clinical quality standards and metrics
  • Collaborate with other service line leaders to develop and implement integrated care models focused on quality and clinical resource stewardship
  • Provide operational support for day-to-day imaging department activities including workflow, productivity, creation of standard policies and procedures and standard forms to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance, staffing, budget planning, capital equipment plans, real-time savings and contract compliance
  • Provide education and support related to regulatory bodies/surveys, including but not limited to: FDA/MQSA; Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC); specific state laws related to imaging equipment and licensure; Joint Commission; CMS/Medicare
  • Create/review/approve CDM/ODM/COSAP submissions including CPT code review and CMS billing requirement compliance; modify/approve standard clinical order sets; provide support for billing/coding denial issues
  • Support IS imaging systems initiatives and deployments from the clinical perspective to ensure patient safety, regulatory compliance and clinical user interface logic
  • Negotiate, implement, and track imaging-specific contracts for equipment service/capital equipment/other services to provide standardization and savings in partnership with the Supply Chain team
  • Create/implement/support additional facility imaging services/programs to grow service lines and patient base; knowledge and experience with emerging technologies
  • Perform due diligence (onsite and remote) for facility acquisitions; facilitate divestiture transition; coordinate equipment relocation due to divestitures/closures; provide guidance regarding regulatory issues related to facility closures

Qualifications:

Required Education: Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program or Clinical Radiology training

Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Administration or Healthcare related field

Required Experience: 10 years of experience as an imaging director in a hospital setting with responsibility for all imaging modalities, including off site locations
Preferred Experience: Multi-hospital system management of imaging services

Preferred License/Registration/Certification: Multiple modality experience/credentials a plus

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and survey processes.
  • Vendor management experience
  • Clinical expertise in multiple modalities
  • Overall experience in hospital operations
  • Prior contract negotiation and implementation experience

Computer Skills Required: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Database software
