Job Description

  • Performs  activities and other tasks as necessary in a laboratory environment.
  • Demonstrates skillful, courteous competency in procedures for blood sample collection.
  • Responsible for selecting the best equipment and site for the tests requested.
  • Serves as an expert venipuncture resource for difficult sticks.
  • Receives and processes all incoming specimens to prepare them for technical assay.
  • Ensures the specimens are handled safely and stored under proper conditions for optimal results.
  • Delivers prepared specimens to appropriate areas in a timely manner, including reference lab specimens.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Typically reports to a lead, supervisor or manager.
