Job Description

Starke Hospital is in need of a CT Tech to join our team! 

Shift(s): 630a -3p, 7:30a - 4p, 8a - 4:30p, 8:30a - 5p with weekend rotation every 5th weekend (night shift)

Job Summary:

Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns. Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as required by the departmental procedures. Performs ultrasound examinations, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, and radiation therapy localization. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. 

Education:

  • Education:  Associate’s Degree or Certificate in Radiography.

    Licensure & Certification:

    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T. (R) (ARRT) or registry eligible with successful completion of the registry within six months of employment required.
    • Post-primary registry in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T. (R) (CT)(ARRT) preferred.
    • Licensed by the State of Indiana as a Radiologic Technologist required. May work under Radiology Student Permit for the first 6 months post-graduation.
    • BLS required.

     

    Experience

    • Cross-trained in and actively performing one or more of the following: General Radiography, MRI, NM, US, Women’s Imaging (mammography, DEXA).
    • Demonstrated knowledge to treat patients of all ages, Universal Precautions, and Right to Know.
