Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Bariatric Manager, the Bariatric Program Dietitian plans, directs, and provides nutritional care to bariatric surgery patients. He/she will act as an insurance liaison for patients who have met the program requirements and are awaiting authorization for bariatric He/she assists in center development, managing the accreditation process and ensuring continuous compliance with MBSAQIP requirements, maintaining relevant policies and procedures, patient education outcomes data collection, quality improvement efforts and education of relevant staff in the various aspects of the metabolic and bariatric surgery patient with a focus on patient safety and other projects during non-client time.

Qualifications: 

Education: Must have education needed to be a Registered or registry eligible Dietitian.

Experience: One or more years experience is preferred.

Licenses / Certifications: Must be either a Registered Dietitian or registry eligible. Must be licensed with the State of Alabama. Must maintain current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and Licensure with the State of Alabama. Certified Diabetes Educator, Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian or special certifications through the American Dietetic Association desired but not required. Must maintain current BLS certification.
