Radiologic Technician - Full Time (32 hours/week) in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Lutheran Health Network - Lutheran Downtown Hospital

Lutheran Downtown Hospital is Fort Wayne's newest hospital in the heart of downtown! Formerly known as St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne's first and longest standing hospital, Lutheran Downtown now offers the downtown community a modern, cutting edge facility with 5 floors of acute care. This facility includes space to grow to 100+ beds while currently housing 60 beds total, including a 19-bed emergency department, cardiac catheterization labs, 2 gastroenterology suites, hyperbaric medicine, wound care, imaging services (MRI and CT), and robotic-assisted surgery.
 

Job Summary:

  • Under the immediate direction of the Nurse Manager, Cardiac Catheterization, assists physician and medical team in preparing patients for and performing interventional procedures; i.e., left and right heart catheterizations, heart biopsies, angioplasties (coronary and peripheral), atherectomies, coronary ultrasounds, interaortic balloon pump insertions, coronary stent procedures, electrophysiology procedures and valvoplasties.

Registration/Certification/Licensure:

  • Current state licensure and registration (or eligible) with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).   
  • Current Indiana State Board of Health General Certificate for Radiographers.
  • CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) within three (3) months of hire.

Experience:

  • Minimum of six months to one year of progressively more responsible experience providing cardiac catheterization or clinical special procedures.

Education:

  • Successful completion of a radiological diagnostic education from an accredited program.
