Job Description

Gadsden Regional Medical Center is a 346-bed acute care hospital with inpatient and outpatient care. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and certified in hip and knee replacements. We have recognized programs in cardiology, pulmonology, sleep medicine and stroke services.

Full Time / Days

This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy and is responsible for developing, maintaining and overseeing clinical pharmacy functions for the medical center. Responsibilities include maintaining clinical procedures and policies, preparation/presentation of medication use evaluations, LeapFrog survey completion, medication reconciliation (performing, supervising staff), cost containment of antimicrobials via local and corporate initiatives, direct patient care review and recommendations targeting critical care and care management discharge planning, collecting and reporting data related to antimicrobial utilization and other clinical needs of the medical center. This position will also lead the Antibiotic Stewardship Committee and the Anticoagulant Committee.

Education/experience required: BS in Pharmacy (Doctorate of Pharmacy preferred) and 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience to include clinical patient care activities

Experience Preferred: Post-graduate residency or national board certification (Board of Pharmacy Specialties), critical care work practice, preparation/presentation of medication use evaluations, proficient use of business and clinical applications

Licenses/Certificates required: Alabama State Board of pharmacy license, State of Alabama controlled substance permit, and parenteral certification
