Join our team! Laredo Medical Center's (LMC) Pharmacy is now hiring a full-time Pharmacist to work with the  at LMC's 326 bed acute care hospital. The department is a secure unit in the main campus of Laredo Medical Center. This is a busy department that sometimes requires flexibility in scheduling.  Employees report directly to the Director of Pharmacy. The Hospital is located in sunny Laredo, Texas, just 150 miles south of historic San Antonio. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available for eligible applicants! Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:

Patient Profile review for clinical and fiscal control of medication dispensing. Compounds and dispenses prescribed drugs in a healthcare facility environment. Responsible for transferring prescriptions, handling incoming physician calls, logging data into the computer, and Drug Utilization Review. Provides order screening, order entry, supervision of Pharmacy Technicians  and performs other related duties as assigned for the operation of the Pharmacy. Communicates with nursing and physician care givers on a daily basis.   Ensures the service values are reflected in all aspects of the department operation. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a manager.

Applicant's Job Requirements Include:

  • Required: Bachelor's or Doctorate's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution and is licensed to practice.
  • Required: Knowledgeable in pharmacology and the pharmacodynamics of medication therapy. Specializing in hospital pharmacy application of professional practice.
  • Required: Currently licensed by and in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. 
  • Required: ACPE I.V. Certified.
  • Preferred: BLS.
  • Knowledgeable in pharmacology and the pharmacodynamics of medication therapy.  Specializing in hospital pharmacy application of professional practice. 
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
