Enter the healthcare workforce before graduating nursing school and be paired with a nurse mentor to support your learning. The student nurse is a candidate brought into this program after successfully completing one semester of nursing school. A Student Nurse works under the supervision and/or direction of the Director, Clinical Manager or Professional RN, performs various duties that does not require licensure. He/She will assist Professional RN’s in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with the established policies and procedures of ShorePoint Health Punta Gorda.  

Requirements:

• Currently in the 2nd semester of an accredited RN Nursing School
• Will be considered a student nurse until the candidate has received a Authorization to Test (ATT) and a letter from the Board to practice as a graduate nurse. 

The Student Nurse may be asked to float where needed based upon staffing needs.
