Health Information Management (HIM) Technician (Certified)

Do you want to be a valued member of a team who plays a critical administrative role in providing excellent care to patients in a hospital setting? Do you have an interest in health information management? If so, consider joining our team as a Health Information Management (HIM) Technician working full time days.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Organizing and evaluating patient medical records and work aging lists
• Reviewing medical records for accuracy and completeness
• Working directly with clinical staff and physicians to ensure that patient records display up-to-date information
• Submitting delinquency reports for month end reporting including identifying trends and provider suspensions
• Performing verification of ADM/OBS orders
• Executing daily HP/OP report monitoring including deficiency letters and suspension process
• Assisting HIM Leadership with coding holds
• Demonstrating knowledge of ERAVE system and how to assist providers with death certificate completion and paper variance and submission to funeral homes

Key qualifications to be considered for this include:

• Associates in Health Information Management, with RHIT
• 0-2 years of related experience required
• Strong communication skills required
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• High level of work quality
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize work
• Familiarity with state HIM regulations
